OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
We harness the power of learning outside of a traditional classroom setup. To achieve this, we have designed dedicated spaces for our students to explore their creative side through a range of innovative, immersive and interesting activities that constantly stimulate their mind, thus nurturing a strong love for learning new things.
At Pioneer we conduct LEGO sessions to boost creativity and fine motor skills. The students use LEGO education toolkits to learn about gears, pulleys, levers, motors, and sensors among other things. Flow control programming is taught in the classes using software like WeDo2.0 and Mindstorms EV3. The classes also supplement the students’ education with soft skills like teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving.
Robotics sessions At Pioneer World School empower students in learning the fundamentals of engineering, programming concepts and logically applied mathematics. These classes provide a highly hands-on experience for students to develop creativity and critical thinking skills.
To bring out the inner artist in each student. Our Art curriculum covers all basic knowledge concerning drawing and painting. Every class will learn a different topic in order to help each student learn a drawing skill, improve their artistic sense and use art as a language to express themselves.
Our inspirational teaching helps students build confidence and quality art.
Using the power of music to bring joy and creativity into students’ lives.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
After school activities are an important part of the overall development of a learner. Participation in such activities allows a learner to experience balance in life and to develop their sense of self. We offer a range of activities specifically designed for our learner throughout the school year. These offerings vary each semester.
Learners are expected to sign up for participation in activities during allocated time slots and are supposed to follow through with their commitment to attend the activity each session.
EXPERIMENTAL LEARNING EXPEDITIONS
Pioneer World School offers other experimental learning expeditions under faculty supervision, which are scheduled during the academic day and are related to the curriculum. These opportunities are designed to put learning in an authentic context and to provide a common experience for all learners so instruction may be enhanced.
Educators may use locations around the city to enhance the delivery of their curriculum or travel to meet guest speakers.
SPORTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
The Physical Education programme is designed around the philosophy of building fundamental physical skills, while improving the brain’s ability to learn. Classes are designed to improve brain function through incorporating movements that cross the three planes of the body. Developing strength, agility, flexibility coordination, balance, and confidence in one’s abilities are stressed through engaging in moderate to vigorous physical activity.
We believe that athletics plays an integral part in the intellectual and social development of each of our learners. Our aims are to foster within learner a positive attitude and pride in doing their best, regardless of the outcome or the score and to develop within them a commitment to a sport and the dedication and sacrifice that such commitment entails. Physical exercise and sports are offered as part of our curriculum and after-school activity.
